Material information
Loro Piana cashmere fiber is made from hand-combed undercoat of cashmere goats that live only in Mongolia and Inner Mongolia – regions with a sharply continental climate and temperature fluctuations from +40° to -50°. Goats have adapted to these conditions thanks to a unique undercoat called cashmere. It maintains an optimal temperature regime – in summer it is not hot for goats, and not cold in winter. Farmers tried to raise goats of this breed in regions with a different climate, but the resulting cashmere did not have the same unique characteristics and was similar to ordinary wool. Since the number of goats of this breed in the world is limited, cashmere fiber is much more expensive than ordinary wool.
